This hibiscus painting was juried into the 2019 Annual Our Town Art Show and Sale, which runs in May and is a fundraiser for The Community House in Birmingham, MI. The plant was growing in my pot just outside my front door. All summer long it called me to paint it. I finally had a chance and enjoyed sitting down and capturing its many life cycles from bud to starting bloom to full bloom. The leaves are fun to paint and I used different treatments for various leaves. “Hibiscus Dreams,” about 11” x 15”, is available for purchase.Click here to contact me about making a purchase.

Oh, do I love that Blue Pot. I purchased it for the hydrangeas that my son gave me for Mother’s Day one year. He envisioned that the plant, shown here in late season, would go into the garden, but I keep it trimmed, in the pot, and bring it in and out over the years. It’s a good memory (there was no room in the garden!). It’s 9 × 12 and sells for $110.
