I woke up one Saturday morning and just had to paint cherries, after a visit to the Traverse City area. I’ve been to the Cherry Fest a few times, but it wasn’t until I actually toured a working cherry orchard, that I fell head over heels for cherries! This print because the official correspondence notecard print for the National Cherry Festival for a couple years. This print is available in notecard. The cherry world is immersed in Great Lakes beauty. Not only do the Great Lakes help provide the perfect conditions for cherries to grow here in northern MI, but you often catch glimpses of Lake Michigan or one of its bays when you are standing in a cherry orchard, thus this painting was born! And I love how blues and reds play off each other! This print is available in notecard. Click here to contact me about purchasing a notecard.
Cherries make me feel happy. For this print, I decided to let my happiness truly loose, using white crayon (to repel paint) and colored pencil (like little scribbles of glee) with watercolors. I also wanted to put parts of the cherry in the spotlight and let other parts of the painting recede. This print is available in notecard. Click here to contact me about purchasing a notecard.
Ravishing Radishes, 15 x 14 inches, $100, was painted following a trip to Kroger! It seemed every radish in the grocery store was popping with rich reds and verdant greens. The bunches called to me as I snapped away with my iPhone. Click here to contact me about purchasing the painting.
