Cherries make me feel happy. For this print, I decided to let my happiness truly loose, using white crayon (to repel paint) and colored pencil (like little scribbles of glee) with watercolors. I also wanted to put parts of the cherry in the spotlight and let other parts of the painting recede. This print is available in notecard. Click here to contact me about purchasing a notecard.
We purchased a basket of apples at a farm market in northern Michigan and I then was captured by them all day at our cottage, painting them in different poses and lights. The cherry world is immersed in Great Lakes beauty. Not only do the Great Lakes help provide the perfect conditions for cherries to grow here in northern MI, but you often catch glimpses of Lake Michigan or one of its bays when you are standing in a cherry orchard, thus this painting was born! And I love how blues and reds play off each other! This print is available in notecard. Click here to contact me about purchasing a notecard.
